OUR REFUGE46:1
God is our refuge, a very present help in trouble.
The Lord not only is a refuge or fortress for us, He is our helper when we are in trouble. God's help is exceeding or abundant. Paul talked about this.
Ephesians 3:20Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
A. The Command to Trust in the Lord
Psalm 37:5Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
Proverbs 3:5Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
B. Results of making Him Your Refuge.
1. Our Supplications will be answered.
1 John 5:14-15... And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: [15] And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
2. The Savior's presence is accessible to us.
Ephesians 3:12In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.
3. We have Serenity from the Lord.
Isaiah 26:3Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
4. God Supplies our needs when we make Him the refuge of our lives.
Psalm 37:3Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
Philippians 4:13I can do all things through Christ which strengthened me.
5. We find Solutions and Satisfaction to our problems when we place our confidence in the Lord.
Romans 8:28And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
6. We have Security and Shelter when we trust the Lord.
Psalm 62:8Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah
GOD'S ANSWER TO FEAR 46:2-3
God addresses the issue of our fear in His Word. He offers practical insights in dealing with our fears.
1. The Paralysis from fear.
Proverbs 29:25The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe.
2. Our Partner during fear.
Hebrews 13:6So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
Psalm 118:6The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?
Psalm 23:4Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
3. God's Provision for fear.
Isaiah 41:10Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

We are to be still in times of Sorrow.
Time of sorrow or worry can rob us of our peace and joy. God wants us to be still and KNOW Him. Take your burdens to the Lord and leave them there.
1 Peter 5:7Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
